I’m Jesse and I’m a retail manager and wardrobe stylist. I love Agnes Varda, road trips, thrifting and movies that are probably 30 minutes too long.
Can you share a project or accomplishment you’re particularly proud of?
Probably the latest film I worked on, called In the Mouth. I produced it and was head of both the wardrobe and art department, so it was a really heavy workload. It was shot in black and white, too, so it was definitely a challenge as I’m used to working in color. With this project I had to focus heavily on contrast, texture, and pattern, and overall I really love how things came out and I’m happy that I accepted the challenge of something new.
What is something you’re passionate about outside of work or your main responsibilities?
Watching movies & thrifting!
If you could give your past self a piece of advice, what would it be?
You’re overthinking it.
What are some signature pieces or styles that define your personal fashion identity?
This is a hard one - my fashion identity evolves so much, so often. I guess something that remains constant in my style is a juxtaposition. Juxtaposition of femme & masc, high & low, or even just in shape/silhouette and textures. Quality is also an important factor in the pieces I wear and own - most of my go-to pieces are made from natural fibers, and a majority are vintage.
